It brings together some of the original Activia dons from previous releases such as Eloq, Taste Tester, Slugabed and Deech and stirs in some fresh meat in the form of Silkersoft, DZA, DJ Warlord and more! It’s a real journey. From the bangers to the clangers it has it all. It’s got rap style club things and one-take analogue techno. It’s got Rewrote doing a grime! It’s got 4bidden with some deep space R’n’B or something. It’s really nice and we like it and it’s a lil signal of some things soon to come from Activia Benz so stayed tuned, gang!

  5. Heaven (A. G. Cook Remix)

DJ DJ Booth claims his influences to consist of "Todd Edwards and The Neptunes. That's it." We don't believe him. Partly because we know him and know that he definitely likes a lot of different music. He's just trying to be quirky.

However, his claims seem quite convincing when listening to his debut EP "Todd Edwards Falling Down The Stairs". The EP starts off in the realms of straight up bangin' old school house / garage with "Ur Wastin My Time". Chopped vocals and a stinky bassline make for a real club stonker. From there on in the EP gradually gets less predictable, with "Sknbyfmymnrrwdy" and "Ch Ch Blaow" both taking you on weird journeys across the dancefloor, interspersed with threats from Big Pun and gunshots respectively. "Heaven" rounds things off with a softer edge and a helluva grooove.

London based A. G. Cook has provided a remix for "Heaven" that is genuinely quite bizarre, speeding up the whole track and adding some fairly ridiculous female vocals ("125BPM, plus twenty percent, heaven at Gmail, sent"). At first it's like WTF but it becomes very infectious very quickly and all of a sudden it's like OMG.

Activia benz is happy to announce its next release, the "Higher Learning" EP from Aberdeen's Lockah and Atlanta's Taste Tester.

These transatlantic goof balls have put together a fantastic record of thick juicy jams, ready for the club and/or a picnic with your friends.

On remix duties, south London newcomer DJ DJ Booth tackles "Higher" turning it into a weird and infectious house/rap party. Norway's Slick Shoota twists up "U Don't Know Me" into a mellow and super vibey juke moment.

Well whaddaya know? Head-boss-chief of Activia Benz and general great guy Slugabed is dropping a cheeky little springtime EP, "This is a Warning"!

Party-time jams with reggae / jungle influences and a whole heap of steel drums, airhorns, 808s and palm trees. Good vibes.

Danish trap fool ELOQ jumps on board also with a bonkers version of the title track to make everybody's battys wine etc.

  6. C'Mon (Slugabed Remix)

For Activia Benz's's third release, we have teamed up with the Danish beat wizard and all round very cool guy, Eloq!

Eloq's music is a lot of fun, but also serious. It makes you want to shake all your limbs in a very silly way, while also maintaining a mean look on your face. It has all the 808s and a few horns as well as lots of very fun synth work. It is trap music, we suppose. We like it very much.

Packed with five original tracks and also a remix from our very own Slugabed, this record is all round very good party music, especially if you like this sort of music.

Activia Benz are back in full swing for 2013 with their next release: Recolor EP from 813.

813 is 25 year old Russian badass, Alexander Goryachev.

He is a firefighter, which is badass.

His music is a dense collision of crazy rap beats, sort of, and some kind of fantastic rave thing, maybe. His music is very badass, much like the fact he is a firefighter. It is also very beautiful, like when he carries a small cat to safety from a burning Russian building.

Recolor is a slice of really fantastic dancey bassy music for partying and hanging out to with your m8s.

  5. Urnite (Slugabed Remix)

Deech comes from Minsk in Belarus and makes music that is at once sensual and engaging but with a rough edge, like Robert de Niro. Here, on the "Urnite" EP, he has created four infectious tracks that work just as well on the dancefloor as they do on the bedroom floor. Slugabed has remixed the title track, giving it a slightly brisker feel and using some wooden percussive noises and a slap bass thing that sounds cool.

The EP sits somewhere between slo-jamz and dance-trax and is all round fun music for listening to.
